Background![]() For detailed information on my background, view my resumé. I received my BFA in ceramics. After graduation, I relocated to Asheville, NC, hoping to further my education and establish a working clay studio. For the past four years, I have fully concentrated on fine-tuning my work within the demands of function, craftsmanship, and expressiveness. Kathleen Cook Pottery, originally called KCreations, became a full-time business several years ago in Asheville, NC, when I began selling to local galleries and concentrating on developing my style as well as a business. In 2000, I changed the name to Kathleen Cook Pottery. For the past two and a half years I have worked out of my home, my cat dutifully keeping me company in the studio. Because of its large community of potters and craftspeople, Asheville is a wonderful place to be an artist. In addition to working with clay, I have enjoyed creating handmade jewelry for over 15 years. This pursuit initially began as a hobby but has recently evolved into a very fulfilling business. I now dedicate as much energy to jewelry as I do to pottery. |
